Services
Research. Supervision & Therapy. Training. Consultation.
Research: I conduct quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research on experiences of stigma and marginalization encountered by LGBTQ (but especially transgender and gender diverse) individuals and the negative health outcomes of oppression. My research seeks to provide a nuanced understanding of the mechanisms and processes that underlie the production of health disparities that exist for these communities, as well as strategies for coping and being resilient in the face of the adverse life events that transgender and gender diverse people frequently encounter.
Supervision: I provide supervision of clinical psychology trainees through Michigan State University's Psychological Clinic and am director of the Sexual and Gender Minority specialty services. We provide individual, couples, and group therapy services to community members outside of the university as well as students, faculty, and staff on a sliding scale.
Therapy: I am a therapist at Wild Ferns Wellness in Lansing, MI. Here I provide individual, couples, and group therapy. I use a cognitive behavioral approach to therapy, integrating mindfulness and acceptance based strategies and a feminist lens.
Training: I am available to provide trainings related to culturally competent and affirming therapy practices with transgender and gender diverse clients, becoming an ally to transgender and gender diverse individuals, creating supportive and affirming educational or workplace environments for transgender and gender diverse individuals, research practices and research findings of relevance to the transgender community, and related areas.
Consultation: I am available to consult with researchers and therapists providing services to transgender individuals.
